Aspartame – 5 Common Side Effects of Aspartame and a Healthy Alternative

Aspartame is a popular food additive to replace sugar as a calorie free sweetener. Found mainly in diet-soda, chewing gum, and anything else being advertised as sugar/fat free; it is very addictive and tastes really good. Which is why people have such a hard time getting off products such as diet-coke. It’s called “coke” for a reason.

The dangers of aspartame and its side effects are astronomical, but here’s a short list. I highly recommend doing further research on this very dangerous chemical that millions of people consume on a daily basis without even knowing it side-effects.

Here are 5 common side effects of Aspartame:

• Memory Loss
• Alzheimer’s disease
• Headaches/migraines
• Depression
• Sleep problems

There are many more side effects than this, but a lot these are what I used to suffer from when I’d consume a product with Aspartame in it. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to come into awareness early on and was able to stop taking products with it. It was difficult, but I completely stopped by soda and chewing gum addiction. If I can cut these out of my life, I know you can too. I promise the benefits are so worth it. Your ability to be happy and have an amazing life full of fun experiences depends on having good health.

Like I said earlier, this is a very short list of what the long term side affects of aspartame are, there are many more and I encourage further research. I highly recommend not consuming anything that contains aspartame, ever! Especially if you’re pregnant or ill. If you need a sugar substitute, I recommend Stevia as a natural, healthy alternative that tastes great!
